" the governing body is neither inspired nor infallible".

Doesnt mesh with "at that time the lifesaving instructions may not seem practical from a human standpoint. All of us,,, must be ready to obey any instructions..."""

The average JW DOES NOT understand salvation and what is needed nor do they have any concept of how it works according to WT doctrine. JW'S DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY BELIEVE!

At best the average JW just knows if they obey the "direction from Jehover" the Governing Body, they will prance right into Panda Petting Paradise -- very very soon. Yes, they are "special". They have been SELECTED -- hand picked via the Holy Spirit because Jehover himself sees they are "special".

    Let's review: It's a Cult!

" apparently,, evidently., maybe,, perhaps,,, likely,,,clearly,,,,"""

Neither does """we just don't know"".

Exactly. And heartbreaking. I am conversing with one now who claims salvation is "believing in and obeying Jehovah's Son, Jesus Christ." This individual emphasizes obeying here: they claim they are obeying their version of Jesus Christ, but the man behind the curtain is not their god--it's the WBTS (just like Beth Sarim posted). It is a wicked game of shells that they shuffle. They claim god-like authority yet change their doctrines so often ("new light") it is no wonder "JWs do not know what they believe!"

Most important, does he want to become one of Jehovah’s Witnesses?

Thanks for the quotes! Yes, the stress is always on identifying as a Jehovah's Witness AND proving themselves "faithful" to Jehovah now and in the 1000-year reign. For them, the term "salvation" is lost in a sea of gobbledygook doctrines and switching of terms. For example, regarding 2 Peter 2: 18-22, the "dog returning to its vomit" is a JW who leaves the organization instead of someone who has escaped "the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in them and overcome."

They have it backward regarding faithfulness. It is not we ourselves that prove faithful to Jehovah in order to obtain eternal life, but the Lord who proves Himself faithful in His gift of eternal life to us:

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." [1 Peter 1:3-5]

So, in this example, the proving faithful is switched from Creator to created, and the definition of this itself is switched from proving faithful to God to proving faithful to the GB.

    There is no salvation.

People have been dying for millenia

Salvation will come with the resurrection.

Oooh that's not as clear as l thought it would be . I hope that ya'll can read it .

It's one of the daily readings from Word for Today . I feel that it clearly shows the difference between WT teaching about salvation and mainstream teaching .

    Mainstream teaching?

Is that supposed to be better?

Mainstream just means that it is popular which means that it is not right.
