Lets face the fact 1914 was created out of appealing speculation and hype, not strongly supported in the bible. It was unquestionably a doctrine that help the proliferation of the literature the WTS published .

Some people grabbed into with the highest degree of faith and adherence.

The WTS actually coerced and persuaded people to pass this doctrine around through its own published literature so that people could show their own righteousness and loyalty to Jehovah. ...... witnessing the truth of the new Kingdom to come, doing so to avail the possibility of personally being saved in the soon to come day of Armageddon.

This unique expressed ideology or theology is still present in JWS today .

JWs and most of conservative / fundamentalist Christendom keep

looking for an event Jesus said would happen within the generation he addressed.

JWs and the IBSA before them proclaimed these particular events happened increasingly after 1914 in any other past era or time in human history.

The reality is quite the opposite, in a matter of fact on a scale of human civilized captivity there were worse times such as the middle ages and before.

The WTS just wanted to substantiate its doctrine of 1914, which isn't supported in the bible and is actually an act of apostasy. (false prophesying)

They didn’t say born in 1914 when I was young , it was first those old enough to understand the events that happened in 1914 so they specifically said they would have to be 14 or 15. Then as time went by they reduced it to about ten then younger and younger. The fact is the book Millions will Never die wasn’t about that idea at all but another switch in doctrine. Anyway so they would have had to be born no later then 1900 as they explained in the 70’s and early 80’s. Your chart should be adjusted for that anyway no ones alive now that was born in 1900.

    Good point Crazyguy,

They discreetly moved the goal posts when it was deemed necessary. Of course all of this is fixated upon 1914.

    To the original poster.

Don't you think that Jesus was talking about a thriving generation that surely would not pass away?

Even the WTS gave up.un the 1914 generation fulfilling Christ's prophecy.

Yes the generation he was talking to.

Which makes Jesus and his preaching new kingdom fictional mythology,

.......nice god though as gods go, very humanistic but that's why the belief of this god grew and spread as it did out of popularity to what he was going to do for humanity..

"Which makes Jesus and his preaching new kingdom fictional mythology,"

Depends really....on whether or not Mathew 24: 1-35 was fulfilled within the lifetime of Christ's contemporaries ....which is my understanding btw.
