Arancia, I'm so happy for you and your husband....that you both had the good sense to know it was time to leave....Happy Life to the both of you!
I believe the trauma comes from leaving behind beloved friends and/or family members, knowing you can't see or communicate with them anymore unless they, too, choose to leave or are forced out and having one's faith in one's beliefs destroyed, along with faith in one's own judgment, since that's what linked a person to the JWs in the first place.....to see what many people go through upon leaving such a restrictive organization, see the posted information at this hyperlinked thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/16/57203/1.ashx
