I received a part on a CA as a 'thank you' from a CO. I was wondering why even though I was known as a good public speaker I never got a part on the assemblies. The green handshake was an experiment. It worked. Less than two weeks after I 'performed' a green handshake, I received a speaking assignment on the CA.
Coincidence? I think not.

I do know what the OP means though. I have witnessed many green handshakes behind the stage at assemblies and never once did the recipient refuse and say that it was not necessary. Instead, their eyes light up and discreetly pocket the cash all the while never missing a beat in the conversation.
