    Walrus, I wish you well.

You are in a difficult situation. Your family is in a cult and offer you nothing but impediments to your growth.

You have ideas about WHO you want to be, but - this is not meant as a personal attack - it can be VERY DIFFICULT for a person in your age group to MAINTAIN FOCUS on attaining the goals they want. I suggest that you develop the habit of every day writing a brief note to yourself reminding yourself of what your long-term goals are. Write the note, read it to yourself anytime you have a chance during the day, and at the end of the day. You will "program" (or "brainwash") YOURSELF into keeping your goals in sight. This will help you overcome negative 'self-talk' - that ugly little voice that many of us have that tells us we will fail. Learn to ignore that voice.

WORK HARD to achieve those goals. STUDY intently; get tutors to assist you with any subject you find difficult, get physically FIT and STAY fit; the mind and body are one and each needs the other. Lastly, SERVE others. Be a tutor - help others learn. Don't allow yourself time to fixate on your difficulties. Keep moving forward.

You can do it. It is your destiny.

Give yourself those empowering self-talk statements Daily, No, many times daily. You have already overcome that cult thinking at your age! Now you need to plan while you are home with those who are brainwashed, so you can get out as soon as possible with as little disruption as possible.

Turn your anger towards those productive things that will allow you to claim complete freedom and self-reliance.

Work your body every day. It not only releases those powerful good feeling endorphins, but it reinforces them when you look in the mirror and see that health glowing back at you. It will give you energy, lots of it. Energy towards making very good use of your brain in school. ( See that school councilor if needed) Getting good grades and finding a good pathway for a job. ( If you are interested in the sometimes very lucrative blue collar field, look up the Mike Rowe Works Foundation. It is designed as either a scholarship or a grant, to pay for the two year college, and training needed.)

Live POSITIVELY, and well. It will be the best outcome for you, and the best testament to the failings of the Watchtower brainwashing.

My gut says you will do quite well indeed.
