I'm only quoting the org's force-fed "food at the proper time" which friends and family had to swallow!

it-2 p. 1027 Spiritism - "And in the Christian Greek Scriptures the statement is made that those who practice spiritism “will not inherit God’s kingdom.” (Gal. 5:20, 21; Rev. 21:8) It, therefore, logically follows that any claimed communication with dead persons, if not a deliberate lie on the part of the claimant, must be from an evil source, a source that stands in opposition to Jehovah God."

re chap. 20 p. 125 par. 17 - "This suggests that resurrected ones of the 24-elders group may be involved in the communicating of divine truths today."

it-2 p. 513 - This assists in identifying the “twenty-four elders”...These elders...therefore evidently represent the entire body of the “royal priesthood,” the 144,000.

The reasoning of your argument TFG is sound. The Biblical instructions are to ignore words from the dead. This is a good piece of human wisdom since it is a fact that the dead cannot speak, therefore dead men's words are going to be a hoax.

To imply Rutherford, Franz et al are influencing the GB today is risible and without consequence like most of JW teachings. When you consider it, it's a matter of prideful conceit that they should link themselves to the former WT leaders. Where the hell is there evidence for this statement? Ideas which cannot be proved have no use except in brainwashing and conspiracy theories.

However the governing body play fast and loose with their followers to the extent that they feel they have the absolute right to determine what is truth and what is not. They have elevated the value of their words above all else, they claim exclusive insight into the true interpretation of everything spiritual (ie invisible, un-testable, unprovable) What gall! What hubris!

Personally I don't think they are an evil source, rather a bunch of deluded loonies milking the Watchtower tradition of cult obedience for all it is worth.

If the GB are convinced that they are communicating with the imaginary 'sky daddy' and are ruled by his son and are being led by the holy ghost, then they are neither liars nor evil-------just delusional old men who dream of grandeur!

    just saying!

The 8 GB members are both- they are liars AND an evil source. Peace out, Flipper

When a common JW apostate like us can see through all the lies, deceptions, cover ups of the WT, do you think the people who run this show are not aware of these ?

just LIARS, or are they an EVIL SOURCE

    Consistent liars are Evil

The 8 are responsible for the deaths of hundreds due to refusal of blood for medical reasons. Disfellowshipping based on leadership bias- purely subjective - on the part of elders , CO’s and Other higher ups, condoning child abuse, breaking up families with their corrupt disfellowshipping laws, false doctrines , among others. They are CRIMINALS of the first order . Evil is what Evil does. These are evil men dressed up in suits and ties.

Wasn't there a Question From Readers a lot of years ago where they said that while they were the channel Jehovah was using, they were not channelling the information in the same way that spiritists talk about channeling dead people.

But obviously they genuinely believe that they are getting directed by people previously alive on earth but who have now moved on. Go figure!

    LOST IN THE FOG:

Yes, but they would like to be VIEWED as though they have a holy mystique...You either ARE the real deal or you are not.

I always said that I would love to shake the hand of anybody in the JW religion who had direct Divine communication. If this were literally true, it would be in the news. Somebody like this would be so special they should be carried on a parade float down Fifth Avenue.

They feel they must be receiving messages from the dead anointed because Rutherford was able to identify the Great Crowd in 1935. Not even the bible pointed to the fact that they would be identified then. Also, there is no indication in the bible as to when the anointed began to be resurrected but again, the GB believe it began around 1919, there only evidence being that they feel that new truths are being revealed to them, such as the 1935 teaching.
