Ok, (with a sideways look at Tink!) Mine would be "Come Undone" Duran Duran.... to me its one of those songs that gets right to the core of me, and makes me feel kinda funny inside. What would be yours?

actually, its eerie how much i identify with this song....

past the past, by ida (since probably few people here have heard of them i'll post the lyrics, check them out, theyre cool)

'after you gave up on the world / for the first time i understood

your words were as good to me as gold, but it's all getting old already

i care about what you see even / though you try to take the best of me apart / and punish me for trying

i watched you hit the ground / with the luckiest smile around

with your stupid guile and your / i couldnt have missed you hailing cabs in the rain

i care about what you see even though you try to take the best of me apart and punish me for trying

every day the nausea hits you / you face the mirror / and wonder if you'll ever get out of here

we never get past the past, staring a hole through the bottom of a dirty shot glass

i listen well to your rage and search your face for a spark

for something shimmering in the dark.'

Actually I don't think I'd have a theme song... I don't really listen to the words of songs too closely.

My wife might pick Pink: Family Portrait though... she identifies well with those lyrics.

used to be "Janey's Got a Gun"

'our song' is Dave Matthew's "Crash"

Lee sings me The Waterboys' "Whole of the Moon":

    I pictured a rainbow

you held it in your hands

    I had flashes

    but you saw the plan

I wandered out in the world for years

while you just stayed in your room

    I saw the crescent

you saw the whole of the moon

you were there in the turnstiles with the wind at your heels

you stretched for the starts and you know how it feels

to reach too high too far too soon

you saw the whole of the moon

    I was grounded

    while you filled the skies

    I was dumbfounded by truth

    you cut through lies

I saw the rain dirty valley

    you saw Brigadoon

    I saw the crescent

you saw the whole of the moon

    I spoke about wings

    you just flew

    I wondered I guessed and I tried

    you just knew

    I sighed ...but you swooned!

    I saw the crescent

you saw the whole of the moon

with a torch in your pocket and the wind at your heels

you climbed on the ladder and

    you know how it feels

to get too high too far too soon

you saw the whole of the moon

    the whole of the moon!

    Unicorns and cannonballs

    palaces and piers

    trumpets towers and tenements

    wide oceans full of tears

    flags rags ferryboats

    scimitars and scarves

every precious dream and vision underneath the stars

you climbed on the ladder with the wind in your sails

you came like comet blazing your trail

too high too far too soon

you saw the whole of the moon
