eyeuse2badub - "There seems to be a near unanimous unwillingness among the faithful to say anything about what they are seeing happening right in front of their eyes. It's a very apparent downsizing of the organization."

LongHairGal - "Yes, it’s obvious the religion is downsizing and I’m sure not many JWs are admitting this out loud."

    Agreed.

"Growth = God's Blessing" has been such an integral component of the WTS's ideological DNA for so long, there's no way loyal rank-and-filers could bring themselves to acknowledge anything less.

The cog-dis would be too much.

I heard there were a couple of congregations that were closed in the Gatineau Assembly/Kingdom Hall.

The rumor going around right now, is that it will be put up for sale and everyone will have to go to the Montreal Assembly Hall. If they do sell it, they will need to build a couple of KH's.

They were going to sell it years ago, but they figured at the time the backlash would have been too great. As it was still mostly new and to many people gave of time and money to it. Seems everything has changed now. Go figure.

They don’t necessarily have to build a couple of Kingdom Halls if they sell Aylmer. If they get rid of a few congregations that go there, plus Meadowlands and Blossom Park, then the remaining congregations can combine and meet in the existing Kingdom Halls. IMO, they wouldn’t delete congregations if they weren’t going to sell at least one Kingdom Hall. Based on what congregations you hear are being deleted, that Kingdom Hall could be the Long Island one, the Quinn Road/Albion one, or the Aylmer assembly hall. They would obviously make the most money from Aylmer.

Selling off Kingdom Halls to merge into making a larger congregation has been quite common recently .

It promotes the lying illusion that there is an increase in numbers and the WTS keeps the cash.

it proves the trivial truth that the most dangerous minions are the so -called shepherds, they herd them into further away pens to stress and easier fleece them and finally see them die.

Saskatoon, SK has amalgamated quite a few congregations the last few years. They sold at least one Kingdom Hall.

If growth is a sign of Jehovah’s blessing, what’s it called when numbers fall, buildings need to be sold off, and congregations need to be combined?

A fulfillment of the "greater number cooling off" prophecy, obviously.

Because everything is a sign of Jehovah's blessing.

Even the stuff that contradicts the other stuff.
