    Here are some more...

1974 "Yes, the end of this system is so very near! Is that not reason to increase our activity?...Reports are heard of brothers selling their homes and property and planning to finish out the rest of their days in this old system in the pioneer service. Certainly this is a fine way to spend the short time remaining before the wicked world's end." (Kingdom Ministry, May 1974,p.3)

1976 "It may be that some who have been serving God have planned their lives according to a mistaken view of just what was to happen on a certain date or in a certain year. They may have, for this reason, put off or neglected things that they otherwise would have cared for. But they have missed the point of the Bibles warnings concerning the end of this system of things, thinking that Bible chronology reveals the specific date." (Watchtower, July 15, 1976, p. 440)

Now take a look at the Watchtower of October 1 1955. What do the scriptures say about 'survival after death' ?

.....' It comes as no surprise that one Johannes Greber, a former Catholic clergyman, has become a spiritualist and has published the book entitled 'Communication with the Spirit World, Its laws and its purpose'

The Society ultimately stopped using Greber as a reference in 1983, when the following Questions from Readers appeared in the Watchtower:

    • Why, in recent years, has The Watchtower not made use of the translation by the former Catholic priest, Johannes Greber?....But as indicated in a foreword to the 1980 edition of the New Testament by Johannes Greber , this translator relied on "God’s Spirit World" to clarify for him how he should translate difficult passages. It is stated: "His wife, a medium of God’s spirit world, was often instrumental in conveying the correct answers from God’s Messengers to Pastor Greber

    .......

WATCHTOWER 1959 OCTOBER 1 QUESTIONS FROM READERS :

The literature published by the Watch Tower Society is published in the name of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. Regardless of who may write certain articles, they are checked carefully by members of the governing body before they are published; so they are properly viewed as coming from the Society.

    (Watchtower 10/1 1978 page 31; bold added)

"Thus, when it comes to the application in our time, the "generation" logically would not apply to babies born during World War I. It applies to Christ's followers and others who were able to observe that war and the other things that have occurred in fulfillment of Jesus' composite "sign.""

    (Watchtower 5/15 1984 page 5; bold added)

"If Jesus used "generation" in that sense and we apply it to 1914, then the babies of that generation are now 70 years old or older. And others alive in 1914 are in their 80's or 90's, a few even having reached a hundred. There are still many millions of that generation alive."

October 2000 KM advises hiding the truth!

A simple presentation is all that is needed. You might say:

    · “I have volunteered my time to help distribute this very important message to every family in [name of city or county]. This is your copy. Please read it.” It may be advantageous not to carry a witnessing case when distributing Kingdom News No. 36.

    Awake 1992 Sept 22 p.14

Jehovah therefore rejects the prayers of those who lead a double life, hypocritically ‘hiding what they are.’ (Psalm 26:4) He listens only to one who is “walking faultlessly and practicing righteousness and speaking the truth in his heart.”

    Compare:

True peace and security book – page 111

Many persons commonly conceal truth or speak only what they believe will further their own ends. Though this is viewed as normal in the world, that does not make it right.

There is good reason for being honest. Nothing undermines peace and security more than a failure to be honest at all times

What happened to Hamas? Did I miss something?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    *** http://www.watchtower.org/library/g/1997/12/8/article_03.htm ***

The disfellowshipping process of the congregation only alters the spiritual relationship between the individual and the Christian congregation. In fact, it severs the spiritual bonds. But the parent-child relationship remains intact.

    *** w81 9/15 p. 29 If a Relative Is Disfellowshiped . . . ***

DISFELLOWSHIPED RELATIVES NOT LIVING AT HOME

    18

.....Such a person is still related by blood or marriage, and so there may be some limited need to care for necessary family matters. Nonetheless, it is not as if he were living in the same home where contact and conversation could not be avoided. We should keep clearly in mind the Bible?s inspired direction: "Quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person . . . , not even eating with such a man."?1 Cor. 5:11.

    19

Consequently, Christians related to such a disfellowshiped person living outside the home should strive to avoid needless association, even keeping business dealings to a minimum.
