alanv: Over here in the UK we are totally disgusted at the scenes we saw a week ago of the violence and rebellion by Trump worshipers.

There is so much wrong with that. You seem to imply disgust at all Trump supporters. Even if all those responsible for the violence were Trump supporters, they are just a teeny-tiny fraction of such and are not representative of the majority. Are you disgusted at all black people because of the terrible things some of them do? Are you disgusted at all white people because of the terrible things some of them do? If not, then why do you and people like you seem to imply disgust at all Trump supporters as if the violence were a Trump supporter issue, when only a tiny percentage of Trump supporters were involved?

To be accurate, you should have written something like "Over here in the UK, we are totally disgusted at the scenes we saw a week ago of the violence and rebellion by a relatively small group of people which probably included some Trump worshipers, whom we realize are not representative of all Trump supporters. We realize most Trump supporters are disgusted by the scenes also."

Your words seem condescending to me. What’s the point of the “over here in the UK we”? Are you over there in the UK so high above us that you condescend to address us and presume to chastise us? Are we over here in the U.S. supposed to be hang our heads because some of you over there in the UK are disgusted by what a tiny group of people did in the U.S.? We, over here in the U.S., could say we say we are disgusted by all the scenes of violence we saw for years in Northern Ireland. Sure, that’s a small sample of the population, but aren’t you implying guilt for a very large group based on what a very small group did?

menrov: Why are supporters of Trump not honest to themselves and admit that Trump (at times) did not act as a president for all Americans.

First, I don't exactly know what you mean by “did not act as a president for all Americans”? I think he did act as president for all Americans in that he acted in the best interests of the country as a whole. That doesn’t mean catering to the specific interests of every individual or group – especially those who want leftist policy which many of us think will weaken and bring down the U.S. Anyway, I don’t want him acting as president for all who are in the U.S. – especially not illegal immigrants, those who want socialism or policy that smacks of such, etc.

Second, a lot of us on this site have acknowledged a number of times that Trump is flawed and that we don’t idolize him; it’s his policies (or at least a lot, if not most, of them) that we like.

It would have been so easy for Trump to win another term, or at least not leave at the lowest point of this presidency.

The man simply cannot save himself...from himself. I voted for him, because I favor his policies, but the amount of stupid shit he says is his downfall. He already had the votes of half the country locked in because of his policies. Now if he could only shut his trap, he would get enough votes from centrists and people just left of center, to comfortably put over the threshold.

revdip2000, I think I agree with you. I think if he had been more self-controlled or forced by others to be more controlled, he would have won.

I wouldn't have wanted him to be so controlled, though, that he ended up being a smooth-talking, phony, baby-kisser like most politicians (like Biden & Obama). I found a lot of his candor to be refreshing, and I think it appealed to many. I loved when he pointed to cameras of certain networks and said "see, there they are - fake news" - right to their faces. I loved the names he had for people like "Crooked Hillary", "Sleepy Joe", "Pocahontas".

Biden, for example, to me, is phony and corrupt, but he tries to be smooth and polished. Trump was just out with it, and, again, I found that to be refreshing.

It's kind of like the situation I saw with elders in JW congregations. There were many who tried to be polished, smooth company men, but, every once in a blue moon, I'd run across one who was honest and would candidly say something negative about the org or a publication or a CO, etc. I found that to be refreshing.

However, back to what you wrote, I see your point and at this point, tend to agree with you.

    Again....

“It sometimes looks like PIMI JW's. They also cannot believe their leaders have done wrong things. They accept all that their leaders do and say, will defend it to anyone who challenges them and will blame anyone who disagrees with them as "false opponents".

“This holds true for anyone possessed by an Ideology, Right or Left..-DD

The fact that anyone could actually disagree (thumbs down) shows their bias.

It's eerily quiet today on this forum about Trump...especially since it was his last day as President...are you Trumpsters doing okay with that?

It would have been nice if Trump, Melania & his kids would have been at the Biden inauguration today...or is it just as well that Trump & his entourage stayed away?

It is better they stayed away. I am disappointed that pence didn't go to the trump farewell, but he is part of the swamp

There are already questionable solutions to questionable problems being rolled out or rolled back. Biden does not have my interests at heart. But he will make sure I toe the mark. Trump mostly had us little people on ignore.

After 4 years of Biden's Party introducing false accusations ie, Russian Hoax and the two BS impeachments, plus illegal spying thanks to the lies in the Steele Dossier, do you really think Trump should be "respectful" and attend the asshole's inauguration? Nah, he did the "right thing" by symbolically "flipping off" Joe and his cronies. The Swamp Culture will continue to try to ruin Trump. Trump supporters will never forget this nor be swayed to the "dark side" however I fear the Deep State will "rig the system" in the next two years so that there is no chance to derail their Global World Plan.

    @JW GoneBad:

Hmm, there was some talk in the morning. You must have missed it. It wasn't about inauguration. As we have said in previous threads - it was never about Trump. It is about policy.

The caravans have started again. The woke culture is intensifying.
