Yeah it's hard to hear but JWs have the right to say no to any of WTs requirements. If every JW woke up and realized this the borg's strangle hold on people's lives would dissolve overnight. It frustrates me no end to see grown-ass people not making their own decisions regarding shunning, two words come to mind learned helplessness!

Be a rebel say NO to WT then let the butthurt commence.

Making ones own decisions in the org is totally not achievable, marry ONLY in the lord, no sport , no college .Rules and suggested directions never end , the only thing that I could think of that they never commented on is bowel movements , but then got thinking the amount of bullshit the GB has shovelled has surely gave some poor brother either constipation or diarrhoea so the moral of the story is they (GB) even try and control the brothers bowel movements.

Witnesses have freedom to make their own decisions. However if they 'misuse' this free will they'll be encouraged to adjust their thinking to make the decision WT wants them to make. If they continue on this 'stubborn ' course elders will offer strong corrective counsel. If they continue on the 'rebellious' course congregation action can be taken. Witnesses have the freedom to make their own decisions. They just better make the right ones. This is not manipulative or contradictory. You will trust us. We are the Borg.

You can choose any colour you like. Just so long as it's black.

You can make any choice you like. Just so long as it's "wise".

Everyone is perfectly allowed to make their own decisions – just so long as they are totally in line with the governing body’s current (daily?) interpretations of the Bible (that is, the fire-from-Yaweh, Moses-and-Aaron Mosaic Law Old Testament part) . . . . or else!

    Hi,

Like Saename said this article is for the public. Not for the friends.

If they decide you should shun, you can make your own decision not to. If they decide to Df you, you can make your own decision not to be Df'd.

The org is trying to paint a picture that they don't control your life. That is what it appears in the beginning, but to those who are lurking or thinking of joining the JW's, don't be fooled. Those who are in be honest with folks about this org. That way they come in with their eyes wide open.

But on the other hand if you are needy, low self esteem, depressed, in need of any type of love (even though it's conditional love, for you it may be better than no love, then join).

The org is trying to appear warm and fuzzy on the surface but the under current is rules and regulations. The org is not fueled by love it is fueled by works.
