I find it amazing that the whole convention refused to clap for those videos. That's very unusual surely.

When I was still active, my mother was dfed for a time being. I didn't live w/ her and she was lonely and we met up every week to see a movie or something. She said she isn't supposed to really be around me and I told her in jw friendly words to f$$# that rule and the gb's teaching on that, I didn't agree with it and wouldn't follow it. I wish I got out by then but was still under the "Jehovah will fix it later" opinion.

In Africa, family is literally everything. I can see why shunning is not so readily accepted among JWs there. Good.
