If there is any English literature teacher on this forum ...Can he or she analyze those words of this song ?

Radicalization is going on ... and people sing without any reaction at the meetings...they are so brainwashed...

    Song 50

    1. 1. Take my heart and may it love

      Truth and wisdom from above.

Take my voice and let it sing

      Praises always to my King.

    2. 2. Take my feet and take my hands;

Let them serve your wise commands.

Take my silver and my gold.

      Nothing, Lord, would I withhold.

    3. 3. Take my life and bring it, Lord,

With your will, in full accord.

Take myself, may all I do

      Be well-pleasing, Jah, to you.

Wow, that is a retread. In the very old green paper song book, there was a song with some of the same phrases.

Take my silver and my gold

    nothing lord would I withhold.....

That got repeated twice. Did it come from that song book or is it really a new one? I think they got rid of the old songs because they copied from old hymns. It also seems like anyone who really knows music - doesn't write for them anymore.

So my very first thoughts ran to the opening theme to the short-lived TV show, Firefly. I definitely like these better:

Take my love, take my land,
Take me where I cannot stand.
    I don't care, I'm still free,
You can't take the sky from me.

Take me out to the black,
Tell them I ain't comin back.
Burn the land and boil the sea,
You can't take the sky from me.

There's no place, I can be,
    Since I've found Serenity.

And you can't take the sky from me.

I think Song 50 is the WT version of the 1874 "Take My Life and Let It Be" hymn by Frances Havergal of the Church of England. It's still sung today in many churches.

    Here are those lyrics:

Take my life and let it be
    Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in endless praise.

Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
    Swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice and let me sing,
    Always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
    Filled with messages from Thee.

Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold.
    Take my intellect and use
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne.

Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be
    Ever, only, all for Thee.

    The lost verses....

Even if our life gets hard

You can have my credit card

I can live on bread and gruel

I love you tho you treat me cruel

I will finance your pinky rings

    Finest food,expensive things

I will go out and graft real hard

So you can sit on your arse of lard.

It's taken from the new song book.., and in the new song book you have an obvious radicalization through words...It means if you don't share our new way of thinking you will suffer...People who sing those new songs are suffering and they are ready to make suffer the others if there are not in the creed...

Hmmm ... reminds me of the last stanza of our State song.

    VERSE 7
Little, little, can I give thee,
    Alabama, mother mine;
But that little -- hand, brain, spirit,
All I have and am are thine.
Take, O take the gift and giver.
Take and serve thyself with me,
    Alabama, Alabama,
I will aye be true to thee.
