    Partially yes but more so realizing the lies and corruption and what those lies and corruption were doing to people.

    No..not the control. I ignored that tactic. For me it was the stupidity of it all.....couldn't tolerate it. Listening to morons droning on about things of which they had no clue...petty gossipy types...guilting people into field service with death threats....oh, a lengthy list.

    No, I left because of the 1995 Generation teaching..That was the last straw and no way could I continue!

    The JWs being a high-control group was one of several other reasons.

    In short, yes. Between my controlling family and the world of JW, I felt like I was wearing a straight jacket. I escaped from both when I was 19. But, it's only in the last year or 2 that I finally feel free and I am 40.
