Just wondering... Why was this miscreant convicted of statutory rape and not forcible rape, aggravated rape, or even just rape?
Statutory rape usually means one of the parties was underage and therefore didn't have the legal capacity to consent, even though they may have been eager to tango or may have even been the initiator. Not at all saying that's the case here, but what's going on?
Plus, does anyone else think a billion dollars is a bit much, even for an ax murder?

Under the radar—I wish they were more information also. But I gather it is the agency that hired this fellow that has the $1 billion judgment. He was not a licensed guard. He was armed. He raped this young girl in public, violently and in front of her boyfriend.
The message is that sexual assault is a damaging crime.The message is that governing bodies of corporations are responsible for their agents. It is expected that the security agency will appeal.
The WT is cruelly contemptuous of the harm to rape victims.The award should make the GB sweat. The world has greater outrage for such sexual abuse than Christ’s Brothers.

This was a no brainer. If you give an animal a gun, like this security company did, without background checks and proper due diligence, they DESERVE to be sued for this amount of money and put out of business.
Imagine this was your 14 year old daughter, and some animal who was irresponsibly given a loaded weapon, used said weapon to RAPE your child.
No amount of money could fix that, but at least this amount can give some solace.
