Yes, theodicy is the 'elephant in the room' for religions. It logically nullifies the ransom sacrifice Jesus allegedly paid. Regarding Christianity, getting educated on the history of the Bible is a good idea.

Believing in Bronze and Iron Age mythology as truth doesn't work because we know too much now. It is an interesting observation to look at history and realize, that as our knowledge and technology has increased, the incidents of god speaking to and intervening with mankind has diminished where now only a select few who suffer from mental and/or auditory hallucinations have these 'experiences'.

A requirement to believe is to abandon logic, reason, facts, and reality. Many of the Bible's 'facts' are false. Many believers haven't even read their Bibles. If you start to think, you're in trouble as a believer.

Thanks for the inputs. I'm guessing many people here become atheists once they leave JW. Do any people here still believe in a God or Jesus?

Not to mention that this whole test was supposedly because Satan said humans could rule themselves and didn't need god. But from what the bible and JWs teach, God and satan never once left humans alone to try and rule themselves. From the very beginning of the Bible, you have them both meddling in human affairs trying to sway things their direction. Stories like the one about Job, which was basically just a bet, and God "hardening Pharaoh's heart", to even today, when JWs think Satan has control over every facet of government and religion.

What would that be proving? All it is, is a universal pissing contest between God and Satan. The very basis of their core doctrine is flawed, it makes zero sense.

And yes when the JW teachings crumbled, it took any belief in God or the Bible with it.

Arguably, a consumer society shops in the marketplace of ideas to select the God of the buffet and comes up with the God they think they deserve, generally speaking.
Those who end up with a God they don't think they deserve are simply shopping in the wrong aisle!
In Christianity alone, there are almost 40 thousand denominations! Each is a wee bit different than the next.
Seriously, why not simply do what the others did so long ago, invent your own. Build a better God; build one you can believe in who does all the right things and chuck the rest.
Compared with Judaism, all the others are Jehovah-come-lately Gods.
