Why does the WT interpret Matt.24:34 "Truly I say to you this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur." as having overlapping generations ? And not applying the same reasoning to any other scripture/s referring to a generation or this generation .? Ph.2:15 ,Ps.48:13 ,Ps.78:4,Ps 79.:13, Ps.100:5 ,Mtt.12:39 Mtt.23:36 ,Lu.21:32

Quite frankly the overlapping generation interpretation is even more ridiculous when considering these scriptures about a generation or this generation.

And their is no scriptual validation for the Governing Body to make such a claim of an overlapping generation.

Clearly jehovah is a lap god. Not to be confused with a fap god or a lap dog or a rap god.

smiddy, are any of the generic generations in your quotations anointed? because the genius of the wt is, that the anointed 144 000 are supposed to be

    1) male virgins (Rev 14,) so: they can't be normal natural family heirs, ( only one virgin birth ever, and the mother was a female).

    2) the wt generation that "-will not pass away,-" , will be safe so to speak, will be spared the destruction, because it will pass away before the destruction, before Armageddon even starts. Jesus was wrong, the generation will pass away, way before the end. so:

why? this wt creation does not fit any natural pattern,

Yet, people still insist in using the bible as a reliable source of information. Go figure.

Simply because when these words were written, they weren't intended to imply an over lapping generation, they were expressively intended toward the generation of people living at the time.

Sorry folks but that's the truth and the facts.

    Stan livedeath: LOVE it!

Putting the scripture that way just says it all!

JWs would object to changing it, but ...... that is what has been done!

In biblical epistemology, a generation was used to imply a complete lifetime of one person or individual.

So the spoken this generation meant until the death of one born of that said generation.

So in realization of that fact the GB members were reluctant to let go of 1914 they had to come up with a doctrine that isn't in the Scriptures at all being, this over lapping generation.

False doctrines are not uncommon by this religious publishing house in its overall extended history because doctrines were devised and curtailed to support the continuing proliferation of the literature the WTS. published.
