Unexplained features: The covenant was with all of "gods people" not just the priests or kings. so why would

the new covenant wt style be made only with the 144 000 king priests and not all members of the "Israel of God" ?

If the New Covenant is for the "forgiveness of sin" why is only .01 % of wt members covered by it? in it?

Where does the "kingdom covenant" come in?

3 This (i.e. 'praying to God for rulers so that Christians may go about life peacefully') is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, . . . (1Tim 2:3-6 ESV)

This passage agrees with your point. 'God desires all people (lit. "men") to be saved.' (1Tim 2:4) And there is a covenant for making that possible. The covenant is between "God" and "men" (same word for "people" above). And the "mediator" is Jesus. The only plausible covenant being spoken about would be the New Covenant.

Note the contrast between "men" (or "people") which is without the article, and "the man" (Christ Jesus). If "men" or "people" were referring to a very select group one would expect an articular "men."

The NWT wiggles around this problem by rendering "all people" as "all sorts of people." It is an anti-Christian rendering in that it denies a very large portion of Jesus' ransom. It could possibly be classed with 1Jo 2:22a.

wt 98 2/1 p.19, par. 6 - "Further, other sheep lay hold of the new covenant just as foreigners of old laid hold of the Law covenant. In what way? Not by becoming participants in it but by submitting to the laws associated with it and benefiting from its arrangements."

Doesn't Deuteronomy 29:10-15 clearly reject this corrupt teaching of the Wizards of Warwick?

10 “All of you are stationed today before Jehovah your God, the heads of your tribes, your

elders, your officers, every man of Israel,

11 your children, your wives, and your foreign resident who is in the midst of your camp,

from the one gathering your wood to the one drawing your water.

12 You are here in order to enter into the covenant of Jehovah your God and his oath,

which Jehovah your God is making with you today

13 in order that he may establish you today as his people and that he may be your God, just

as he has promised you and just as he swore to your forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

14 "Now it is not with you alone that I am making this covenant and this oath,

15 but it is with those standing here with us today before Jehovah our God and with those

who are not here with us today."

Rahab and Ruth were foreigners and were accepted as full members of the nation of Israel.

If they hadn't been, the Messianic lineage would have been corrupted by non-Israelites.

As such, why does the self-appointed "slave" insist on a type/anti-type application, in order for "non-anointed" J.W.'s to be classed as "foreigners?" (w85 3/1 p. 15 par. 15)

Watchtower would soon be making a new covenant with the Catholic Church to get help on how to handle Pedophile cases.

B: thanks, thinking too about Israel, the people that are made up of the 12 tribes that all were in the Law Covenant, and are now supposed to be in the New Covenant. all.

Only a small portion ( supposedly martyrs according to Rev, 20 ), are sealed to come out of that grand total.

    a small number 12^2 x10^3. According to Rev 7,

The 144 k are not the total Israel of God, as was asserted without proof in the midweek talk, but they are only a small fraction, and are in the Kingdom Covenant.

    thanks all for the help.

This teaching was just put into place so they could create a laity class for themselves.

    CRAZYGUY2:

I totally agree that this teaching was so that they could have a laity class..meanwhile they spoke out of both sides of their mouth wanting JWs to believe everybody there was equal.

Over time I could see they were emulating the church they criticized so much. For so many reasons I’m glad I walked away from the JW religion.

They liken the anointed as being the same as earthly Israel who were going to be a nation of Kings and Priests, only they are now Spiritual Israelites, God's chosen nation.

They deny the other sheep of so much. They are not sons of God, they are not Spiritual Brothers and Sisters, God is not their Father other than in a superficial way, they do not have the law written in their hearts, they are not part of the New Covenant and they do not have Jesus as their mediator. And then they turn around and claim there is nothing special about an anointed person.

Going back to the anointed being characterized as partakers. During the last supper there were 11 or 12 partakers. none of them was anointed.

as to Rev 7, the 144k coming out of the greater 12 tribes of Israel, that is a Great Crowd that they are sealed out of. A Crowd being in the temple, the domain of dedicated Israelites.
