Reporter. I suspect from your avatar and username info, you are also in Canada.

Heck....I have seen, OH YEAH, up and real close, the Canadian flag on some of my fellow Canadians.

    Yes, in the undergarment department.

Looked great! Not sure if it was a protest or a pro-Canuck notion.

They didn't stay on for long.

Does anyone remember the album cover for the Black Crows: Amorica, a few years ago?

I'm sure there were a few American women sporting the motif, if not internationally.

No one protested, or got upset that I remember.

    Ok, a few questions:

    One answer!

The constant harping on and grasping at straws for any and every thing against either Bush or the US shows it.

How about, we change all the posts about Bush to Simon? How long would that last? Bush leads a nation, Simon leads the largest (to the best of my knowledge) exJW forum online. Bush has authority and power over many people, Simon has authority over people posting here too. If I or anyone else constantly posted multiple threads daily against Simon, seeking every little nit picking thing he has ever done, ridiculing him and his family, insulting his education and values, would that make us anti-Simon?

Neither Bush or Simon is perfect, shouldn't that entitle both to the same treatment?

Rodbar, odd how those on the left now whine that Bush signed, not a real flag, but a toy replica of one and accuse him of defacing it, but remain silent over others who for decades have defaced actual flags with the peace symbol, as seen in the past few months at many war protests. Is this not straining the gnat just a bit?

Edited to add: Thanks for the congrats. While still some time away, things are moving quite well towards our being together.

Bush's loyalty is to the 'skull & bones' society. His oath to this org. supercedes the oath of being a President of the USA! My friend, that is scary! As insignificant (to some/many) as him writing on the flag, he was defacing it! He momentarily lost his political savvy and got caught. In golf there is a saying, 'You can cheat, just don't get caught'. I would love to hear his explanation to this incident.

A truer analogy to posting "anti-Simon" topics constantly on here would be to go to a republican or whitehouse discussion forum and post anti-Bush statements there. Do you think they'd last long? No, of course not. Likewise I wont put up with idiots coming on with nothing better to do than slag me off. Why should I?

However, Bush is an elected official in a position of authority and it's right and fair for people to be able to scrutinise and criticise his actions if they wish. There is some political / current affair discussion on this forum and people are free to post things from different viewpoints.

It seems to me that you have given some people labels and are determined to continue a campaign of trying to make things fit in to your view of things.

I would warn you that I will not put up with constant harping on and trying to make everything that you just happen to disagree with 'anti-American'.

You are not America. You do not speak for America. You don't have the right to go round accusing people of doing something that they have not done.

I haven't seen anything on this topic that I or I believe most reasonable people would consider at all "anti-American"

    >>> Odd, those on the left and those who hate America can burn it, replace the stars with a peace symbol, wear on their pants and cut it up for clothes and that's okay. But, let Bush autograph a small one and some go beserk over it.

    Dakota,

Some of us are somewhere between these two extremes. I think it's wrong to deface the flag for any reason by ANYONE.

That said, burning the flag or wearing it as clothing isn't a crime. Neither is the President writing on it.

I'm with you on this one teejay. Did I ever say you were one cool mofo?

I would be held by many on this site to be "Anti-Bush" yet in fairness I see nothing wrong with the picture as posted above. That is desperate left-wing extremism which actually backfires because it comes across as solely hate for a man, and not a disagreement with relevant issues.

I have not ever seen anyone tramping on a flag in a parking lot but it's good if you pick them up. And there is "flag etiquette."

    Jayson,

It was awful! This was after 9-11 when everybody had attached flags to their autos. I worked in the accounting dept of a plumbing supply store and when I would go outside to grab a smoke, I would see flags all over the parking lot. People would drive over them, trample them. I had finally had enough when I went into the warehouse and there, in our drive way, was the flag, coated with filth and tire marks. I went around the parking lot, gathered the flags up, and placed them in a container and set fire to them.

Some of our employees, who hadn't a clue regarding proper flag etiquette, started harrassing me about burning the flags. I mean, they were rude. Called me a "flag burner" and "unpatriotic". These were the same employees who had let the flag lie there in our driveway. I told them all to get on line and look up proper disposal of a flag before they judged me.

After the disposal, I took them into the office and pulled up a website on how to treat a flag. These people did not apologize, they went their way. However the following week, when there were more flags in the parking lot, nobody said a word when I collected them for burning. None of them made an effort to help me either.

I was and am still apalled.

Reborn, I knew we could agree on something....besides Portillo's (and all those other restaurants)--

Hey Ballistic, I kinda like that new design of the British Union flag - whats wrong with changing it anyway? Flags are suuposed to symbolise the country and should not be thought of as "sacred" in themselves. Thats what the dubs do with blood, they hold sacred a symbol of life rather than life itself.

And you and your cronies aren't doing this with any who oppose your incessant hatred of the Bush Administration? Oh, sorry, that's right, it is allowable as long as it is bashing the current American Administration.

Is this were the threats of another deletion start for not following the party line?
