REGARDING THE WTS AND THEIR FEAR OF THE INTERNET.

I JUST WANTED TO MENTION THAT THE WTS WILL PROBABLY COME OUT WITH A CD-ROM, SOMETHING TO SUPPOSEDLY HELP THE JWS STUDY THE BIBLE, OR SOME CRAP LIKE THAT, BUT IN REALITY, IT WILL BE A PROGRAM TO BLOCK THE JWS FROM ACCESSING ANY ANTI-JWS WEB SITE. I KNOW THE CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY DID IT. SO THEY COULD DO IT TOO.

They have done better than that... they have created a mental filter in the minds of their followers.

Remember the first time you did a search on the internet and an apostate web site came up in the list? OMG! The Fear! Shaking hands, racing heart... quickly closing the browser and then purging the internet history and temp files to make sure another JW could not find the search results and accuse you of apostasy?

Out of interest, has the WT, mentioned the use of filtering software, (similar to that which protects kids coming across pornography on the interent), to restrict access (or the possibility of coming across a site by accident ), to apostate sites?.....he he he, it's more than likely that they couldn't get through to their own official web site if they did !!!!, oh by the way, how much do the WT say about their own web site in the magazines, seems as if they mention it little if not at all.

Since its establishment in 1997 through 2001, the WT website has been mentioned 3 times.

    November 1999 Kingdom Ministry p 5

Our official site [www.watchtower.org] presents accurate information for any who want it."

    1/8/98 Awake p 12

For example, the Watchtower Society recently announced its own Web site (http://www.watchtower.org), which serves to give factual information about Jehovah’s Witnesses.

    November 1997 Kingdom Ministry p 3

Our Internet Web site has the address http://www.watchtower.org and contains a selection of tracts, brochures, and Watchtower and Awake! articles in English, Chinese (Simplified), German, Russian, and Spanish, as well as in other languages

Good post Blondie - funny how they mention it so seldom, and to boot, twice in the KM, which is not for public consumption, and only once in the Awake. I guess they don't want to Advertize Advertize Advertize the site.

the above post truly sums it up - the most powerful form of control is mental control in my view, while physical control is powerful- it is amazing to watch how mental captitvity works-

a man confined in prison and told over and over that he will be shot if he cross over the fence line,- if the mental indoctrination is good enough the fence can be taken down and due to fear the person would not even attempt to run due to such fear-

the old story is about training --Fleas- is what comes to mind

blondie post highlights the true interest the wt has- getting it's members on the net- as one poster stated so much for Advertising the king and his kingdom

    DANSK,

I WASN'T TRYING TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE I WAS SHOUTING. IT'S JUST THAT SOMETIMES I CANNOT READ THE POSTS MYSELF CAUSE THE LETTERINGS ARE SO SMALL. SORRY IF IT LOOKS LIKE I'M SHOUTING.

The WTS also has an "offical Public relations" Website, which I have NEVER seen it mentioned in any watchtower.

They keep there members on a "need to know basis", and i suppose they feel they do not need to know this.

    regards Rick
