What would we think if he had aids and the spit got into the cops eyes or on his lips or on an open sore??
Spitting has become a much bigger crime than it used to be.
Although I think that in the absence of aids, this is too much time.
He should get more for beating his wife 5 or 6 ? and the spit? Maybe 2 or 3 added on.

There are many posts on this subject a few days ago.
Yes, life for spitting in itself is not right, however this particular man who has quite the rap sheet.
This man was arrested for breaking his wifes arm, then he spit upon an officer while being arrested.
The issues here are much greater than just spitting.
I would imagine the judge knew all of this, and took his history into account.
