Even though I have no use for this religion and would never have given money to the CO, you mention a guy wise enough to plan for HIS future. Of course, this is contrary to the advice given to the rank & file JWs.
The religion talks out of both sides of their mouth. For this they can rot.
So, any lurkers here better take note that they better plan for their future. It is insane not to.
I agree LHG: From the organization’s perspective, those who save for retirement are strictly speaking not following the organization where you are supposed to live as if the end were imminent.
Good on that CO and his wife for putting the funds aside that other COs spent on “lavish” holidays.
But make no mistake: he and his wife’s example of practical planning would NEVER be retold as an experience to follow by an JW in good standing.
