Anyway, hey, you have every right to ask that your roomie not download objectionable stuff.
One nifty way to do this would be to simply lock your computer with a password, which is VERY easy to do with any computer!
Change the password for your internet access so that he can't sign on to anything. This makes it impossible for him to upload or download anything to your computer that you find objectionable.
If he wants to behave like a spoiled teenager and whine about his "rights", then treat him like a spoiled teenager and just remind him who pays for the computer and the internet access. His "rent" is for the roof over his head, bathroom, and kitchen access. It does not cover computer use or internet access. You realize that your IP address is probably being collected by every porn site that he visits, right?
Tell him he can get free internet access at the library; whether they will let him download porn there is another story, but that's not your problem, is it? Then move your computer into your bedroom and have a key lock installed on your bedroom door.
