Like everyone else, Crisis of Conscience -- Ray Franz

    Animal Farm - George Orwell

1984 -- George Orwell (eerie similarities to JWs)

Sophies World -- can't remember the name -- great book, after I read it, I ended up minoring in philosophy in college

Aboke Girls -- about the LRA atrocities in Uganda (difficult to read)

I love to read, these are just a few that pop to mind right off the bat.

"Five go adventuring again" by Enid Blyton.

It used to be Noddy, but I lost interest when Big Ears became too prominent.

I was 8 years old, BTW.

    My first five non-JW books

    • Father's Days: A True Story of Incest by K. Brady
    • I know why the caged bird sings by Maya Angelou
    • If I should die before I wake by m Morris
    • Best Kept Secret: Sexual Abuse of Children by Florence Rush
    • Conspiracy of Silence: The Trauma of Incest by S Butler

In these five books I realized I was being abused in my marriage and reliving my childhood. Although they are all about incest I knew I was reliving my past.

It wasn't until about 10 years after I left the JWs that I read

    • Churches that abuse
    by Enroth

  • Orwellian World of Jehovah's Witnesses by Botting & Botting
  • Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse by Johnson & Vanvonderen
