I believe in Christmas and Easter because an observable instance of both happens once per year.
I don't believe the mythology that they are based upon.

I was raised a Dub, so I have no "fond memories" of XMas past or emotional attachments to the occasion; to me it is an arifact of a culture that I never shared.
I had the same feeling and same experience, but as my extended family began to celebrate the holidays, we got more and more sucked in. It wasn't part of my past culture, but it is becoming part of it. I liken it to moving to a new country............... my past culture made me who I am, but I can adapt to the new one too.
Not an atheist, and we don't make the holidays a religious issue either.
