Paduan, do you mean the wheat and the weeds (tares)?

Don't they interpret the Wheat as being true servants of God, and the Chaff being the rest of the evil world?

They believe in the time of the end.....which is now......that the preaching work will produce either WHEAT( sheeplike ones) or chaff...(those who do not respond).

Those who respond to the Witnesses message are the wheat. When Jesus return in judgement he will SEPERATE the sheep from the goats...or "the wheat from the chaff". Those that are seperated as chaff will die forever at armaggedon, and the wheat to everlasting life under his Kingdom rule.

So the "wheat and the chaff " replaced the "sheep and the goats" as the popular sorting method or has that comparison always been there and I missed it? ( I've been out for 7 years, so forgive my ignorance!)

    I have a question....anyone?

I have never been baptized as a jw. I was raised as one and left the teachings in my 30's and was baptized as a christian. I openly reject the wt teachings and my family knows it. Why then does my mother say to me that she will be looking for me in the resurrection? She sounds serious. Is she thinking on her own or are they taught this now?

Your Mother knows in "her heart" that you are not an evil person probably, despite what the watchtower says.

    Integ,
You sure? Is she straying from wt teachings on this? Do they actually teach that everyone but dubs will be killed at the big A? Or Is she thinking of the resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous teaching? I'm confused..lol.

    DJ,

Yeah, they teach that everyone but dubs will die in Armaggedon. I have some JW friends, and they told me that. I argued with them saying that their religion has only been around for what, 120 years? They told me that back then only some people followed a code of conduct such as the one they have now in the Jehovah Witnesses. This is because I think they believe that they need to work for their salvation. Once, a teacher who studied Christian theology got in a discussion with one of my JW friends over this matter. The teacher ended up making him look bad, my JW friend couldn't keep up with the questions or answers. Anyways, I ignore their endless arguments. Oh yeah, I just remembered something. Can you believe that one of my JW friends takes his bible to field trips on school because he says its good luck with girls? That guy is a major flirt, and so does my other JW friend. In my opinion it's because they know that they can't really go out with anyone they please, it needs to be a JW. That way, it won't make them look bad and they'll have something to say if people start telling them that they are hitting on someone. They'll argue that we misunderstood. Lol, anyways, sorry for getting off topic here.

Isn't the resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous what she is referring too? Isn't that after the big A. So, if you die before the big A....then I would be resurrected, according to her?? Is that right? She must either think I will die really soon or not believe that the end is near. Anyone have these teachings current??
