By the way, Francois, The whole point of this thread is about what to say to a ~~JW who insists you should call God by his name. I honestly don't think that quoting some pagan Chinese guy and asserting that the bible lies when it said God revealed his name will at all work. Your comments are interesting from a philisofical point ov view, but irrelevant to this thread.

The Catholic monk Raymundus Martini wrote in Latin a booklet entitled "Pugeo Fidei" (Dagger of Faith) in 1270, wherein the name "Jehovah" first appeared. It is this LATIN name which crept into the English King James Version in 1611 that has come down to us. Who says that Jehovah is originally an English name?
