Been reading some BOE letters that mention "Special Blue Envelopes" evidently used for judicial correspondence between the Society and the Congregations.
Frankly, I had never even heard of them before.
Any former Elders out there want to describe them for me? (yeah I know they are "special" and they are "blue" )
More importantly, are there any former Bethelites that can describe the process or treatment of these at HQ?

The Special Blue Envelopes are used to send the completed DA/DF forms to the Society's Home/Branch Office. Each congregation secretary has a small supplyt of DA/DF forms, including the sky blue envelopes so that when a JC is formed, the chairman of the JC is given one set of the forms to complete. This completed set of forms, in the blue envelope, is sent to the Society. When it's received there, it's immediately identified because of its colour, and so is sent directly to Service Department without being opened with all the other "general" mail. Upon receipt in Service Department, it's processed and an "approved" stamp is attched to one form to be sent back to the congregation, along with a replacement set of forms which includes a special blue envelope.

Eduardo, it makes it easier for those opening the mail in Brooklyn to spot a confidential judicial envelope, not to open it by mistake. The envelopes with payments from the congregations on their loans to the WTS are green so the mail staff can pick them out of the hundreds of letters and get that money into the bank right away. But that was before they starting sending the payments electronically.

thanks those were pretty much my assumptions.
Imagine what it would be like if someone developed a similar looking envelope and during one month the Society were to receive thousands and thousands of these blue envelopes from persons all over the world with a "special message" of self-disassociation or such.
that would be fun for the boys to separate and have to look at return addresses, etc.

enough folks here have seen them first hand so it is only a matter of gettng the size and color to be similar enough.
it would be funny if the Society had to change colors! or keep changing colors.
