Please tell me I wasn't the only PIMO elder to do this...

    No I didn't do that.

When I was a PIMO Elder and the School Overseer and someone who went out and gave talks 2 or 3 times a month - I did my best to remove the CULT CRAP from any part or talk (congo or assembly) and LACE IT FULL of LOVE and COMPASSION.

As a PIMO Elder I tried to get people to think that if you were a follower of Jesus, you should show LOVE and Understanding to all.

I tried to get people think about how to add value to their lives and cope with their real issues (not vampires, zombies, harry potter, or porn) by valuing people, family, life, and how to think about LOVE being the answer to happiness.

Of course in the end it was like punching the ocean.

    Statement from Desirous of Change:

TIMO -- TRAPPED INSIDE, Mentally Out.

    Brilliant!! Truly captures the essence!

I used to do something similar with the WT cd-rom, all my talks were built using copy and paste. The intro and conclusion were mine, but the rest was... Lego.

In earlier days, outlines were not thought to be that closely adhered to. what a waste of time to plagiarize someone else's brainchild.

Talk time was to come up with something germane, original, perhaps even german

That was one of the plusses of the wt religion back then, freedom of expression for the many (within bounds) compared to other religions. let her rip.

Interesting, yes lots of copycats. Being new and stupid I'd come up with my talks on my own. Pulled off one or two really good ones but left me so exhausted from the stress build up I struggled to do anything decent for a while after..

Used to increase the point size on my screen to fill the pages faster, what an ordeal for an introvert, never again !

Good post, best life ever right.

Now we have TIMO ,PIMO ,PIMI ,so I suppose we should also have TIMI ,is that it ? all I have to remember ? or is some bright spark going to come up with another brainwave.

Sadly giving great talks was my VALIDATION in life to a great extent.

My reward was moving people. Though I was shy I did love the validation at conventions when there was a line of people who wanted to tell me that what I had said touched them in some way.

I also felt superior almost all the other brothers who just mailed it in, or really just didnt have the ability to do better.

Pouring my soul into each line was my "work" and gave me the subconscious licence to NOT have a career, NOT plan for the future, NOT work on having a nice home, NOT do anyone of a million things I regret so much now.

I was only a ministerial servent. I gave my talks everything I had. I really thought I was doing the right thing. I only woke up a few months ago it hurt me bad. I am still trying to figure things out. I can’t do it either anymore. I am just not going to do it.

My last meeting just a few weeks ago I told my coordinator that he was a hipocrite and that the millstone has been cast and the rope was tied around his neck. That was the study a few weeks ago on lap dancing and a couple of paragraphs on stumbling. He commented like a fool. I couldn’t handle it I had to call him out. I said it lowed enuf to be herd by others. I was just saying what others wanted to say for years but had no balls.

They think I am depressed and that I will come around. Actually I am cut to the bone with hurt. If I was weaker I would hang myself at the front door with my story pinned to my shirt. I the end I don’t think they would care anyway.
