You've captured the lifelong feelings of inadequacy that religion instilled in us, and the cognitive dissonance we kept repressing. I am looking forward to more.
By the way, I got the "village hall" reference and understood what you meant. At holiday times, I too enjoy the sense of community, humanity shared, that comes from some events, no matter where they are held.
