I used to hope I would see some kind of supernatural activity. I think my thought process was if I could prove the existence of demons then I could prove the existence of God.
In this life the only demons I have ever seen are flesh and blood.
I always used to wonder when a JW why we should have been so afraid of demons. I mean we were being constantly told we were in Jehovahs organisation, that as JW's we were the only ones God looked on with favour. We only had to say "Jehovah" and we were protected.
Yet JW's went into apolexy if anything faintly demonic came near them.
Yet Christians I knew, took the view that as Christ was in them, why should they be afraid. God was with them, so no stupid demon was going to get them. If one tried they would put up a fight and kick its butt.

I also remember superstitions about not saying certain words, like "Jeez", or "by Jove", or I think even "jeepers, creepers".
I was in this bar one evening when low and behold some old witness friends I grew up with were there all sisters. There brother who last I new was still at Bethel. They said hello and even accepted the drink I bought them. Ask about family and laugh and was having a good timeand then I offer ed a toast ohhh boy why did I do that. No toast to the demons they said HMMMM Boy have I been away a long time.
That reminds me of my JW cousin, she told my dad that the Janet Jackson Rhythm Nation album was demonic because of one song on there. It was called something like Black
