They like those unmarried women around because they think they will have a permanent "drudge" class to do favors for all the users! The religion knows that once a woman gets married, they can no longer go up to her and make nervy requests.
They might also possibly imagine these women are going to leave whatever money they have to the religion.
They can go fly a kite.

This is sick. How many lousy marriages have resulted from this rubbish. Mismatches of every type occur--people getting stuck marrying people they are not even attracted to because that's all that's available. And, the chances to meet others at big and grand boasting sessions is badly nurfed.
On top of that, they want the husband to be at least an assistant hounder, a guarantee of getting a tyrant. Not to mention, what happens if the husband decides not to waste money on Israel in 2017 because that would allow the family to save more for other things, work less, or do more in field circus at home. That could be taken as a sign that he is disqualified for the marriage. Plus, that will narrow the field even more--just about guaranteeing that someone will be forced into a marriage in an ethnicity that they are not compatible with, to someone they are not attracted to, just because they wasted the time and money going to Israel.
Even worse, there is no trial run. You commit, you are stuck in a lousy marriage. There is no way to try before you buy--people have spent more time checking out cans of beans at the store than they are allowed to check out potential marriage partners. I think that scripture, along with the whole LIE-ble, belongs in the rubbish.

EXACTLY! There is such a great lack of choice that so many are totally unable to find suitable marriage mates, especially sisters. And once you are married, you are STUCK with the person FOREVER, however incompatible they may be. No wonder so many are suffering from depression!
