The telling key to understanding the film Zeitgeist is its title meaning the prevailing spirit of its time. It is about the state of conspiracy theories in 2007 USA. It was intended as "infotainment" not facts about origins, although this does not preclude the use of some factual things. Mystery, hype and real world events make basic American entertainment.

One bit of fact noted in history is Egypt was one of the most dominant civilizations of the Mesopotamian region and the ancient Hebrews had a reoccurring relationship with it well documented in the Torah and bible .

Finky, the Bible's "History" is 98.776943 % Fiction, or thereabouts.

Moses and Aaron are fictional Characters, there was no Exodus from Egypt etc etc. and of course all of Judaism and subsequently Christianity can be traced back to what the Hebrews/Israelites absorbed from Egyptian and Canaanite religious beliefs and practices.

Your right Phizzy the ancients such as the Israelites took mythological stories from other ancient civilizations and used them for themselves and disturbingly you could be pointed out as an evil apostate if you were to qestion these stories .

The ending endeavor was to create and place the power of the gods into men's hands toward the means of socially controlling people .

The JWS religion as it was formulated is another example of this.

You dont have to in this day and age Joen

but you might have to if you were born in the time of these ancient civilizations.

ie. questioning the High priests of the ancient Israelites could get you stoned to death for apostasy.
