I was just thinking the same thing.
Just when JWs have switched to tablets, the latest news is that physical book sales are up, and e-books are down.
However I think the Watchtower reduction in printing has more to do with the Swaggart case in the 1990s than with the switch to e-books in the 2010s... taking the longer historical view.

There have been studies that conclude that electronic reading has a much lower retention quotient than actual book reading. That doesn't matter with the WT material, though, because it puts one to sleep anyhow.
There was also mentioned fatigue to the eyes sets in much quicker. This is also good if you are looking at WT reading material.
