APPOINTMENT AND DELETION OF ELDERS AND MINISTERIAL SERVANTS

SITUATIONS THAT REQUIRE A REVIEW OF AN APPOINTED BROTHER'S QUALIFICATIONS

    25. Committed a Disfellowshipping Offense Years in the Past and the Matter Was Never Addressed: The body of elders may de- termine he can continue to serve if the following is true: The im- morality or other serious wrongdoing occurred more than a few years ago, and he is genuinely repentant, recognizing that he should have come forward immediately when he sinned. (Perhaps he has even confessed to his sin, seeking help with his guilty con- science.) He has been serving faithfully for many years, has ev- idence of God's blessing, and has the respect of the congregation.

The bottom line is that hardly any male wants to reach out for any position,

so now they will take anybody.

To add to HappyDad comment, I believe it’s a big reason they’re merging KHs. Not only to make them look fuller because attendance is down, but also due to brothers not wanting to serve. They are also creating more and more videos to deal with this lack of brothers that can give parts.

    HappyDad ...

I don't agree that they will appoint just anybody as you assert.

I believe they have the test that you must fog a mirror if they put it under your nose.

he bottom line is that hardly any male wants to reach out for any position,

I dont agree with that at all.

In my experience, the majority brothers want to be an elders. Most want to be looked up to, or want to not be left behind by the brothers around their own age or siblings who are already elders.

THERE WILL NEVER be a shortage of males who want power.

And Fulano is right - this is not new, been in the book for a long time.

    Jimmy Y ...

I think you would be fine as long as your pillow does not have a venereal disease and you can explain to the elders that you did not touch the pillow improperly.
