Witness 007 I’m somewhat amazed, reading your comments on here for decades, that you’re still in a situation of inviting around a CO for dinner. What’s the story?
p.s. I had a worse situation than this. I had a book on spiritualism by the occultist Rudolph Steiner which I had purposely turned the other way to hide it. An elder took it out the bookshelf and turned it around and his eyes nearly popped out his head. He put it back without saying a word. Perhaps he didn’t know I saw him look at it, I’m not sure. His gobsmacked silence was message all its own.

WatchTower didn't mind Johannes Greber being a self-professed "Spirit-medium" helping to translate the New World Translation of their Bible, but they can't deal with Tolkan? LOL!!!!

We were never taught appropriate boundaries as jehovahs witnesses.
What we thought as normal, looking through private areas of other peoples houses and allowing other people (circuit overseers and elders ) rummaging though our private lives is just dysfunctional.
The circuit overseer would blow a fuse if they saw our dvd collection but they don’t come our way often.

As a new elder in training, my husband was taken on a "shepherding" call, and the elder told him he should check books, videos, music (discreetly of course!) and my husband was shocked and would not let him do that when he was there. But that elder was perturbed when they left because all those things were locked up and wondered what they were trying to hide (so the trainer had looked anyway). Let me add, some of those people loved Disney films, like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, etc., thinking if it was Disney it was safe.

“ and of course checked out our library ”
I find this very very rude and bad-mannered. In all my shepherding calls I have never done that. But maybe it’s different in your country. It’s like picking up photographs or opening the refrigerator. In my country it’s not done.

@Blondie: Disney IS safe! At WT HQ in NYC, they once viewed the classic, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" for a Bethel Family night. (early 80's as I recall)
If it's good enough for the Popes of New York, it's good enough for the rank-n-file Sheeple. Baaaaah!

CO for dinner?
I wonder how he'd react if he saw Stephen King books on your shelf.
