I thought he was great in his acting role " Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence "

His new album was just released recently ? He must have known the end was near. , so sad.

The last three tracks are pretty great: Girl loves me, Dollar days and I can't give everything away

THere was an article about him on NYTimes this weekend about his new album. His best performance, or one of his best I should say was when he was on Howard Sterns birthday show and did I'm Afraid of Americans. I"m going to see if that's on YouTube because it's totally genius.

Sad, 69 years is so young. He raised a very fine son, producer of the sci fi movie Moon, Duncan Jones. They seemed close.

    RIP, David Bowie.

TBH, I didn't get into his music until fairly recently but the man had a great talent and changed styles throughout his career.

Here's one of my favourite songs of his:

Smiddy I thought he was great in Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence as well. My favorite will always be Ground control to major Tom.

What a tragic loss and a great singer and songwriter. Just a wonderfully talented man who adopted many different styles of music. Many people don't know that he had Stevie Ray Vaughan playing lead guitar on his songs " China Girl " and " Let's Dance " in 1983. It really added a cool dimension to those songs indeed. Here's China Girl :
