see the arching arrow that points to 1975?

Nathan.I like those numbers, David's numbing number calculation points to 2075. nice to keep it tidy.

I guess every JW has forgotten what the author of the "This generation" prophesy thought a "generation" was. In it's first fulfillment, Jesus was warning the early Christians. That warning was given in 33 AD. Jerusalem fell in 70 AD. Thirty-seven years. Long enough for those that heard the warning to benefit from it. I guess the Borg thinks we're going to live to be 150-160 years old.

    Thanks for all the feedback.

The WT date of 2034 or 2040 sounds very much like what we heard for the build up for 1975. The WT has not come right out and set a date but have hinted at a date so that when it comes and goes they will just blame the rank and file members on being over zealous and going ahead of Jehova. This way they try to keep those ones in as they work toward a date and bring new recruits in. Fool me once.... .

    a) If they try to stretch 1975, it means their calculations are based on the creation date of Eve & the talking snake.

    b) It its 2075. If is the outer limit of the "2 overlapping group" generation,

two different animals in the same zoo, circus.

The Watchtower Corporation built its readership base from fear, lies, ignorance and corruption.

By doing that the leaders of the WTS built power toward themselves exploiting the hapless believers.

Officially the system ended the day Donald Trump won the elections.

    This Generation

At the 5-minute mark, Flodin says:
“When our current understanding first came out, some quickly speculated. They said, “Well, what if a person in his forties was anointed in 1990? He would then be a part of the second group of this generation. Theoretically, he could live into his eighties. Does that mean this old system is going to continue, possibly till 2040? Well, indeed that was speculative. And, ah, Jesus…remember he said that we weren’t supposed to find a formula of the time of the end. In Matthew 24:36, just two verses later—two verses later—he said, “concerning that day and hour, nobody knows.”
“And even if the speculation is a possibility, there’d be very few in that category. And consider this significant point: There’s nothing, nothing, in Jesus’ prophecy that suggests those in the second group alive at the time of the end would all be old, decrepit and close to death. There’s no reference to age.”
“Well, Jesus said simply that this generation would all pass away…would not all pass away… before he comes to full kingly power…our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, Jesus’ prophecy could reach its culmination this year and be absolutely accurate. Not all of the second group of this generation would have passed away.”
Here Flodin mildly rebukes the reasoning that some use to set an upper limit to the length of the generation, terminating in 2040. ‘This is speculative’, he says. This appears like reasonable thinking, but then he immediately undermines his own logic when he next says, “even if the speculation is a possibility, there’d be very few in that category.”
What are we to take from that?

Sounds very much like Franz, from 1966 he said the following,

'What about the year 1975? What is it going to mean, dear friends?' asked Brother Franz. 'Does it mean that Armageddon is going to be finished, with Satan bound, by 1975? It could! It could! All things are possible with God. Does it mean that Babylon the Great is going to go down by 1975? It could. Does it mean that the attack of Gog of Magog is going to be made on Jehovah's witnesses to wipe them out, then Gog himself will be put out of action? It could. But we are not saying. All things are possible with God. But we are not saying. And don't any of you be specific in saying anything that is going to happen between now and 1975. But the big point of it all is this, dear friends: Time is short. Time is running out, no question about that.

This is coded language to the rank and file that the end of the system will come by 1975 but then they can say after the fact they never said that.

Franz was a ball park liar and a mischievous crook, he used the 6000 years of mankind's existence back in 1941 , which he no undoubtedly took the 6000 years date from C T Russell the past president of the WTS. who propagated it in the early 1900's.

Franz even had the gall or balls to proclaim October of 1975 as the date of the 6000 years, an unknowable calculation from using bible chronology.
