    So, just posted on JW.borg:

As of March 2023, the hour requirement for pioneers, which was suspended during the pandemic, will once again be enforced.

Elders will review the activity of all pioneers in June 2023. If it appears that any do not have a “practical schedule” (aren’t getting at least close to 70 hours per month”), elders are to “kindly and frankly discuss their circumstances”.

What’s that sound that seems like a torpedo plane diving on its target? That’s the sound of the number of regular pioneers in complete free fall

Wow this is not gonna end well for watchtower. They taking suicide. Don't they know the apathy in congregations before covid. It's much worse now. Plus we are not free from Covid yet.

Oh, tittle pooh. Jehovah's Chariot(tm) engine has been stopping and starting again like a plane without fuel.

    Sputtering out.

May the Tower fall and TOMO the Turd be rehabilitated from his possible obsessive alcohol addiction,

Pioneer is such an empty title these days. You don’t get special prices on the magazines and you don’t get the special food tickets for the convention. The only time it really becomes an issue is when elders decide to “take away the privilege”, sometimes for petty reasons, leaving fragile egos bruised and feelings hurt. What is the point of being a pioneer nowadays?

That requires about a 10% change in pioneer hours.

Prior to Covid, pioneer hours were 90% imaginary.

During Covid, pioneers hours were 100% imaginary.

After Covid, pioneers hours will again be 90% imaginary.

No one will even notice any difference.

Yeah, this title or "privilege of service" was a ticket for those who had it to be given PRIVILEGES that other dubs--except for elduhs, MSs, COs, DOs, Bethellites, and Missionaries--weren't able to "benefit" from. Invitations to special events (Borg and Non-Borg) plus gatherings were the big things back in the day--especially from dubs (SPIMI and PPIMI) who were "Title Conscious". Nowadays, this position is just a publisher who has to make more than the usual effort to work a greater deal for this cultporation! 👆☝🏽 So much pressure made for a MAN-MADE/PIPELINE-DREAM ORGANIZATION! 🤬

What is the point of being a pioneer nowadays?

As one of the greats on this forum, you always have a point: Pioneers nowdays don’t enjoy the specialties of the old days.

Except that pioneers are still viewed as a full time servant and also viewed as such by the fds with any benefits that may come at any point in time or entitled to as such by the WT. And you hold rank in the cong which is important to people especially for “sisters”. Some feel a duty to God to do as much hours as they can even more hours than pioneers but won’t take on the assignment for reasons you gave, not to be humiliated if deleted. Whatever the case, someone who puts in so many hours of personal time in this Bible activity (which is what all JW are supposed to be doing) can be taken seriously by other JW.

slimboyfat..."what is the point of being a pioneer nowadays?" being put on a pedestal by others. How many would do it without the pats on the back? Or they think they can make up for bad behavior.
