The accusation may, or may not, meet the Scriptural definition of drunkenness. Legal blood-alcohol limits vary depending on local laws and do not necessarily establish that a person was Biblically drunk.

    "Biblically drunk"?

    Biblically drunk.

    So ridiculous.

    Another arbitrary WT law.

An elder's pioneer wife lost her license for DUI ( over .08). She was pulled as a RP during the six months, but no public reproof or anything else. Put back on the list as soon as the suspension was over.

Situation: A concerned publisher informs the elders that a brother went to a party and got drunk.
Two other publishers approach the elders to complain of hearing similar reports, and show the elders pictures from social media of the brother with a beer bottle in his hand. The elders also learn that he was pulled over by police and ticketed for driving while intoxicated
Questions: Should the elders immediately form a judicial committee? What should be done if a matter has not been clearly established but there are serious questions? (Pr 18:13, 17; ks10 5:38) If there are doubts about whether a matter merits judicial action, what should the elders do? (ks10 5:2) [Highlight the following factors: The accusation may, or may not, meet the Scriptural definition of drunkenness. Legal blood-alcohol limits vary depending on local laws and do not necessarily establish that a person was Biblically drunk. The elders have not yet spoken to the accused. Therefore, the body of elders should assign two brothers to investigate this serious accusation. If questions still remain after a thorough investigation, it is best to contact the Service Department for guidance

Sorry, my comments would not post.

These clowns have no depth of understanding about rights and wrongs.

It has been well proven that DUI puts the drivers life in danger as well as others. They are more concerned with what they consider to be biblical drunkenness rather than the more serious issue of putting others in danger.

"Many congregations are experiencing changes due to expansion.....". I'm waiting to see how they spin it when actual worldwide growth turns negative.

That reminds me of one elders wife who was black and lived in an all white area of North Michigan. He met her at when he worked at bethel as a slave for a couple of years. She would get jobs she was not qualified for because of her color and it ticked boxes in an area it was hard for company's to tick that box. One of the girls who was not a cult member and worked with her, stopped riding to work with her sharing the drive. She said she was drunk every morning and drove like crap. My aunt lives next door and said she has wrecked more cars than she can count. At the time I was partners with an elder from the same hall and brought it up to him. He said he talked to the elder and he said his wife does not drink. LMAO.
