I believe Francois is onto something. It is rather puzzling that we should direct our lives from a series of controversial books written thousands of years ago by ancient men with less knowledge of the universe than we have today. Shouldn't knowledge continue progressing forward, opening frontiers, making discoveries? This can be done without sacrificing belief in a Supreme Creator and with respect to our human limitations compared to the expanse of the universe.
I find the more investigation into the archaeological roots behind popular religion, the more controversy is exposed. Religion, like politics and greed is no longer just a concept, but has become a patter of behavior in humans, like racism, violence, immorality and therefore a useful tool in accomplishing harm to others.
