I'm watching protesters in NY running away from cops. Why? Why dont todays protesters have the strength of their convictions? NOT ONE out of hundreds stood their ground w/ the police chasing them. That is breaking the law. No respect. So many protesters just out to party & have a good time yelling, but no guts.
Chicken**** protesters.

Agreed... when we rode to the capitol and parked our bikes in the streets, we stood by and waited for the police to come get us. They didnt.
People are not born with balls these days.

Well...you should have seen the protest here in Toronto, massive. No one ran away, and it was peoples' way of voicing their opinion.
Now, you want to see a protest: June 15, 2000 @ Queens Park here in Toronto. That one was as ballsy as you can get.
I have talked to people who were either pepper-sprayed and/or tear-gased and they related what it was like.
You run...not much choice when your lungs are going into violent spasm.
I know people gripe about protesters.
Ban them: deny them democratic process?
There are pro-war/anti-war protests. Neither likes each other, but democracy allows for this, right?

Nuttin wrong with protests.... infringing on other peoples space isnt right tho, or infringing on thier rights.

I'm with you there Animal, no worries. I like peaceful meaningful acts of protest. When things get trashed or people are harrassed, then the effectiveness of the protest, is sadly lost. I have left protests as a result, because then it's not about the cause, but about a few goons who lack insight into this valued and treasured democratic process.
I can understand the anger, but one protest (Manila, Philippines, February 1986) that was miraculously effective and probably the most incredible one I've ever seen was the People Power Movement to overthrow Ferdinand Marcos. Now that was pure dead brilliant, and it worked!

And how do you purpose, 100,000 people come together to protest something, without blocking traffic?

Trauma,
It's called getting a permit.

I dont "purpose" anything....
But, I would propose that the protest organizers take this into consideration when getting thier permits. A large, overflow, crowd might upset traffic by means of its size. But, people purposely jumping in front of cars, like in San Fran, is wrong. Several found out when the dude jumped out of his car and kicked ass.....

th, in this & my other thread for today, iam referring to the intentional blocking of traffic, which is far from peaceful.
