    The impressions in the sand, even if assumed were made long ago, do not prove that they were made by early semi humans.

    There is no assumption about it. Do some research on Argon-Argon dating and you will see why it can be said with confidence that the footprints were made 3.6 million years ago.

    You challenge is to explain who was walking upright 3.6 MYA. You also need to deal with the hundreds of fossils of hominids who were clearly adapted for bipedalism discovered in the same region of Africa from rocks of the same age.

    Just a side note... obsidian spear points and arrow heads can be accurately dated by the hydration dating method to get exact dates of when they were made.
