Either that number represents a vast amount of born-ins or--someone in WT is lying!

Hiddleswife, the WT has always appealed to the broken of society. DRC is extremely broken and there is seemingly no escaping it. The WT message is exactly what they want to hear .

Listener, if ONLY the GB would move away! Lol, they wouldn’t even dream of anything but their posh existence.

    Paul,

I hear you, but JW values could be replaced by any “religious” values that promote better living through common sense and humanitarian efforts. We don’t need JWism anywhere as it’s ultimately harmful.

According to the report over 14,000 were baptised in Congo last year, so 700 at a convention isn’t surprising. Congo is practically the only country left with strong growth.

Since it is so obvious where the growth is, undoubtedly there is much more work to do there. Land and building is cheap.

The issue here is that these folks cannot contribute financially to the Org. If anything, the Org sees them as a burden.

As i understand it, the Org rations the publications to congregations who don't contribute enough $. How loving....
