Jehovah's Witness Elder ordered to repay $4.7 million to fleeced flock
A jehovah's Witnesss elder was ordered by a federal judge to pay more than $4.7 million in restitution to almost 50 victims of a Ponzi-like con game – many of them elderly members of his own congregation. Read the whole story on http://www.watchtowerinformationservice.org/
Poor elder....JW's can be an easy group to scam....I mean, thet obviously are an easy group to scam.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU EXPECT
In this case this elder just appealed to their greed, getting something for nothing.
Are you monitoring this, Bethel?
Just another example of the sheer ROT infesting the organization.
You look the other way, you cover things up, you quietly encourage deception and "Theocratic warfare"
and what happens? Surprize! You have corrupt elders!
Will you ever wake up? Will the old farts ever get out of the way? Will they ever allow real moral reform?
Don't hold your breath.
Well really, what do you expect? The entire organization is one big con game - they promise huge returns (eternal life), get payments of cash and labor in advance, deliver nothing, and keep promising more that they can't deliver. When someone catches on, they lie, deceive, cover up, and shun. Eventually, individuals figure out the scam and get out.
This guy was just a little too blatant.
A spirit appointed con-artist.
Maybe he was gambling that Armageddon would come before his little scheme was revealed.
Waiting for Armageddon to shield him from prosecution... yup... sounds like an air-tight plan to me!
He has been a missionary. Maybe he just wanted to send money to the poor people in Africa…
