I thought about that back when I was ripped-off.
Ford made hundreds of thousands of F-150's. The radio in mine was a base-line model. The cheapest Ford could come up with. The radio they put into fleet units.
If you wanted to restore an F-150 you could find these radios anywhere.
Also, if you wanted to restore a '78 F-150 you would more likely take other bits that have become rare and hard to source. The quarter-light window they broke to get to the radio is worth more than the radio.
