So my husband who was not attending meetings for the last four months, went to the special talk, the memorial and the meeting today. He said he feels Jehovah’s spirit is back and that they are all being so kind.

I am just sick to my stomach. He just refuses to see anything as a problem. I told him about the org being a NGO for 9 years since neutral is a big issue for him and he had a million excuses for it. Didn’t seem to bother him at all. It’s sooo 😞 sad. I feel quite hopeless.

He said he feels Jehovah’s spirit is back and that they are all being so kind.

Obviously he doesn't know about cult love bombing, its part of he WTS. indoctrination process.

JWS are blind sided to the fact they are faithfully following a sinning false prophet driven by Satan and his wicked system of things.

What made him stop attending 4 months ago?

Except for the effort to ensure he was invited to the memorial and 'special' talk, plus all the 'we miss you' love bombing comments, nothing has changed. While he may feel energized and enthused to attend for a time, routine will again develop. Attending alone can also be tiring and without you to push hm to attend, he will likely again soon loose interest and begin missing more and more, for the same reasons he stopped attending previously.

If you criticise him because he started attending again, that may give him justification to consider his renewed enthusiasm is correct and may therefore delay his becoming inactive longer than if you said nothing.

I don't know what the talk said specifically, but besides talking a great deal about what it means for humankind, they usually throw in a few words about how God will soon take care of all the problems. Every witness, new, old or "prodigal son" type, will know what they are talking about - Armageddon. The ones coming back, might become a little anxious thinking about where they stand in God's eyes.

That fear is also a great motivator to return. I remember several people coming back into the congregation when an event in world made them anxious. So he may have that running through his mind also.

Maybe that is a subject you will end up talking about. If he is anxious, he might express it to you. He might be thinking about what will happen to you when it does come.

Get on Amazon right now and purchase the book by Steven Hassan, "Combating Cult Mind Control".

Your hubby is in a Cult. You must learn how to reason with the authentic person vs the Cult mentality.

Chances are if he burned out once before, he will again. (Hopefully.)

    Good luck.

My wife and I went through many episodes like this.

Try to keep in mind that logic/reason/rationality have will not have any effect on him. Religion is an affair of the heart, not the mind.

I understand about being sick to your stomach. I was furious one day when JW spokesman, J.R. Brown was lying his face off on the radio and my wife brushed it all off with excuses. Emotional responses are counterproductive though. (I know this is easier said than done.)

    A temporary psych-up like that isn't uncommon.

Hopefully, effects of the love bombing will wear out shortly.

Wow....concentrate on positive things. If you can plan things to do, places to go etc that coincide with meeting times that might be good. I tend to agree with incognito....that fussing about it may just make him kick his heels in...like the kid with a boy or girl friend you find godawful...the more you fight it the more determined they are to fortify the relationship.

The love bombing will die down. Just give it some time. I know, it has to be very frustrating.
