In the news, we saw that Bin Laden is taking sides with Iraq against the US. How ironical it is that Nato can't even get along together and agree on a common strategy, and on the other side terrorists like Bin Laden can join forces with Iraq to fight against us.

About 13 years ago, the Warsaw pact fell apart with the dismantling of the Soviet Union. Do you think that this lack of cooperation between members of Nato marks an end to Nato as we know it?

Remember that Bin Laden has decided to side with the IRAQI PEOPLE and not Saddam Hussain. One thing that seperates NATO and the Arab world is religion... no matter how much Bin Laden thinks that Saddam has an 'apostate' regieme to him America's stance on Iraq is just another stance against Islam.

Nato doesnt have religion to bring each other together. The Arab world does, which is their secret weapon.

NATO = France and Germany holdout. Remember, France has an oil interest in Iraq.

Then BL called on Socialists to band with the fight against the US. Aha ah! The true issues are finally coming out. These Islamo-fascist Commies need to be addressed. War has been declared on us.

    thichi,

France has an oil interest in Iraq.

you mean in contrary to the Bush admin.??? :)))))))))))))))

to construct a alliance with muslim fundamentalists and communists is more than rediculous by the way.

I have been finding it very strange how people can totally disregard any economic reasons US is so hell-bent on "war", while out of the same mouth say the only reasons that other countries are siding AGAINST the US are reasons of economic nature. Yes, the Americans is the only country that could possibly have "honorable" intentions (and we wonder why everyone else in the world thinks we're arrogant).

Yeah, the US economy is sure getting a boost from this war, eh? Gas prices are plummeting as we speak! Not.

    Interesting point JH.

It seemed during the Bosnia conflict, there was friction in the NATO alliance between France and the U.S.

The U.S. seemed to be chafed under the direction of other countries commanders, so one wonders if there is some resentment left over from that conflict.

    pettygrudger & Realist:

The United States is not invading Iraq for oil: If oil was

on Washington's mind, it would invade Venezuela, whose crisis has

posed a more serious oil problem for the United States than Iraq

could. Nevertheless, Washington expects to pay for the

reconstruction of Iraq from oil revenues, and there will be no

reason to limit Iraqi production. This cannot make either Riyadh

or Tehran happy, since it will drive prices down and increase

    competition for market share.
