I think we should print some Aposta-Dollars with Simon's picture on the front. ALL BEATLES' GURU NEEDS IS CASH

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - The Dutch Central Bank says an organisation founded by Beatles guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has not violated the law by issuing and using its own currency in the Netherlands.

The Global Country of World Peace organisation of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, an Indian mystic living in the small southern Dutch village of Vlodrop, issued brightly coloured notes of one, five and 10 "raam" last October.

The bank, which said on Saturday it would investigate the currency, said on Tuesday it had received no indications that any laws were violated.

"It is within the boundaries of the law...as long as the Maharishi doesn't suggest that this is legal tender and it doesn't resemble the euro," central bank spokesman Tobias Oudejans said.

"There is a closed circuit; transactions can only be made at certain shops," he added.

The Maharishi brought "transcendental meditation" to the West more than 40 years ago. Among his six million followers worldwide have been the Beatles, who famously travelled to India in 1968 to meditate with him.

Most of the "raam" currency notes are distributed in the Netherlands, where more than 100 shops accept them at a fixed rate of 10 euros per raam.

The Global Country of World Peace also aims to use it as a type of "currency", which would not be legal tender, to help people barter goods and services as part of its aid programmes in developing countries.

Maybe we could "buy" apostadollars as a way of paying Paypal - when we send money via Paypal, we receive "apostadollars" in return. Those that accumulate enough "apostadollars" can exchange them amongst other jw.com posters as barter for things (such as Windchaser's penis warmers). Of course, they have no real value, even amongst ourselves, but it would be fun to play around with the notion.

Imagine this: A 'Living In The Last Days VISA' - no need to pay it back, there won't be time anyways

Love the "ApostaDollars"! You guys are so funny. ApostaCents, nay, none of that around here, lol!

And a big LOL @ Razor! Please send me a PRE-APPROVED application ASAP. Any xdub is automatically pre-approved, credit rating inconsequential. And your credit limit is determined by how many years you "donated" to the WTBTS: 1 year JW, $1,000 credit limit, etc. And IF (that's a big IF, of course), the "End" doesn't come right away, we can then apply for the "Jubilee Year MasterCard" which, in due time, will wipe out any outstanding debts on our "Living in the Last Days" VISA. lol.

Tell me, what is the name of the BANK issuing these LITLD-VISA and JY-MC? "Third Heaven Savings & Loan"? c'mon, somebody else can think of something more funny than that. An Aposta-Penny for your thoughts!
