I am new to this site. I was a jw from age 8 to 28. I am now 48 and leaving the organisation is the best decision I ever made in my life. Anyway, could somebody please tell me the current jw mis-stance on blood. I heard that it changed a while ago.

    Welcome Warren

I don't think the doctrine has changed. The difference is that they are willing to accept some blood fractions.

Still the same. So if you want to pet panda bears make sure you never end up bleeding to death or you'll have Hobson's choice.

Warren Wilson - You could try here - you should be up-to-date after that.

The chart above is inaccurate. The Watchtower's policy permits the use of 100% of blood fractions.

Yes, You mean "major component" & "minor fraction".

Major components are packed red cells, plasma, and platelets.

Minor fractions are immune goblins, albumin, and vaccines.

To be fully accurate, the chart should also probably identify that prior to 1961, even though blood & its fraction were prohibited, it was still not a disfellowshipping offense until 1961. It was viewed more or less the same as smoking - strongly discouraged, but not grounds for DF (yet).
